About Us

Viva Church’s mission is to lead people to become faithful followers of Christ. Our vision is to be an equipping and mobilizing church that transforms our world for Jesus Christ. We accomplish this through the acronym “I AM”, which stands for Integration, Activation, and Mobilization. This is how we actively disciple people.

Integration

Through the Sunday experience and Grow Groups we are able to provide a place for people to “…day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes…” (Acts 2:46). Integrating into the body of Christ is essential to our discipleship process. It is in these places where we can “…consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Activation

We believe each person is gifted by God. Part of our active discipleship is to “…fan into flame the gift of God…” (2 Timothy 1:6). For this reason, Viva Church has the Equip School of Theology and Ministry as well as the Theological Institute to activate the gifting of each person. We offer various opportunities throughout the week for people to serve and utilize their various gifts since “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7).

Mobilization

The upward call of every disciple is to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you…”(Matthew 28:19-20). Viva church is a mobilizing church with various opportunities to effectively make disciples through personal evangelism, community outreach, and global missions trips. We desire every person to “…receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

Our Vision

This program exists to fulfill the calling in Ephesians 4:11-16, “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

Equip is a place where the saints of God can come to set their foundation and build on it. We desire that everyone in the church has the opportunity to allow God’s word to impact their Heart, Mind, and Hands.

HEART

The root of discipleship is discipline. In Equip you will learn the spiritual disciplines and effective strategies to make them a part of your daily walk with Christ. This will establish a firm foundation for our hearts to love and honor God.

MIND

Equip has two tracks to complete. One will establish our Theology and the other will establish our understanding of the Bible. We believe that a mind that is set on God will be full of life and discernment.

HANDS

Equip will conclude by establishing important skills for our service to God. We will learn about our gifting, it’s function in the church, and how we can utilize it for the common good.
